WHO AM I?

Hey! My name is Jay and I am incredibly happy that you've taken an interest in improving your health. You may have stumbled upon this page hoping to find some kind of ultimate “Nutrition Guru" or “Fitness god” that would be able to give you the easy “1-2-3 Failure-Proof Steps To Success” or “The Hidden Secret of Weight Loss” or maybe even “The Ultimate Health Hack.” Unfortunately, if that’s what you’re looking for...you’ve come to the wrong place. I’m just a regular guy (a son, brother, uncle, grandson, cousin, and fiance complete with all my faults, failures, and feelings) who happens to also be passionate about helping others get to their next level through nutrition and fitness.

You see, probably like many of you, I struggled with my weight throughout my life. I was the “husky” kid (as my mom would call it) and would fluctuate off and on (fit...fat...fit...fat...fit...fat...etc…). I tried “this” diet approach and “that” diet hack...but nothing ever really seemed to work long-term. Things would generally work for a short while but then...I would fall back into the trap of junk food binges, excuses, and discouragement at my failure. I had to learn more sustainable approaches to achieving better health.

There is no magic pill. Only patience. There is no secret hack. Only habits. There is no special diet. Only dedication. Health and wellness isn’t a weekend trip, it’s a lifetime journey.

WHAT ARE MY PASSIONS?

I enjoy anything that challenges me. I thrive off of pushing myself to the next level.

I have a passion for always learning in order to continually grow.

I find fulfillment in being given a problem and then developing ways to fix it.

I love seeing people succeed and overcome things they never thought they could overcome.

WHEN DID I START BECOMING INTERESTED IN HEALTH?

Although my background is in the mental health field, I began to better understand the connection between physical fitness/nutrition and mental health around 2014. I had previously gained 30 lbs while in college even though I was training every other day in the Army R.O.T.C program. Eventually, I got to a point where I knew I needed to improve my health and so I went on a nutrition and fitness craze. I dropped 40 lbs! However...since I achieved that through sheer willpower instead of developing lasting habits...I regained my weight. It wasn’t until around 2014 when I began to take my health seriously. Since that time, I’ve self-educated myself through trial and error, talking with others, reading books, completing trainings, and earning certifications.

WHERE AM I FROM?

I was born and raised in Central Jersey.

WHY DO I LIKE BEING A COACH?

Simply put, I have a passion for people. It’s the reason I went to college for psychology and have made a career in the mental health field. However, I also grew to love nutrition and fitness. And as that passion developed, I realized that I wanted to share my experience and knowledge with others who were on their own health journeys.

HOW DO I THINK I CAN HELP?

Whether you are just getting off the couch or you are a seasoned athlete, I believe that I can help you reach your goals. I want to make sure to balance your ability level with the right amount of challenge through both standard practices as well as creative ones.
